Thanks! JandS |

See my post below yours - is it too late to extend your warranty...? Seriously... For once I'm not being facetious at all...I would look into it if I were you!
by an 11 year old girl for school work and emails.Light usage, that was why I decided not to get the extended warranty. It is too late to get the extended warranty now, lesson learned if the motherboard died next year. For now manufacturer's warranty in effect. We had Toshiba in the past and it lasted for 5 years. The HPs are used by the boys and I got warranties for them. |

Thanks! JandS There are also plenty of smaller computer stores. One I have used often and am happy to recommend is Addax Computers in Richmond. It is not a fancy store, and their English is not always quite as fluent as they claim. However, they know their stuff, build incredibly cheap machines and offer a no nonsense "if it goes wrong we will fix it" guarantee. |

As ever, it depends on what you want. Future Shop, Best Buy and Staples offer the widest range off off-the-shelf brand names. London Drugs carry a more limited selection. You can also get a cheap lap top in Wal*mart. None of the above offer much in the way of after sales service. I would not buy an extended warranty from any of them.

I dont know if you can order HP's online at hp.com, but if you opt for a corporate models, many come with 3 years international warranty as standard. specs are not as exciting, but...

To echo the above, I'd recommend Staples - check their weekly flyer for the best deals. Or, if you can wait the random time period, you can't go far wrong with Dell - again, check the specials they have that change almost daily. These are often listed on www.redflagdeals.com
