where do the canadians go for vacation,and where would be a good place to buy a holiday home (cheap)?

In ontario most vacation in either cottage country, north of lake ontario, or near georgian bay, or head to the carribean / mexico / southern US /cuba for beach holidays. Carolinas and Florida are popular with golfers in the winter too.
With only 2 or 3 weeks hols total though, most take just one week at a time. I usually dont go anywhere on holiday, I like it where I live, so dont feel the need to escape the area for a while, but then I dont live in a big city.
