thrift store = charity shop

....this one may come in handy when deciding what to do with all those god-awful presents we got given a few days back.

The most sensible comment ever on this matter.

Also known affectionately as the Sally Ann, or if you are more upmarket, Value Village

RW & Co and Cleo's are my girls favourite shops for clothes that might compare to Next

Hmmm , anyone remember the Biway? We used to have one. Seems it was one of those stores that had a unique smell. Like K-mart, always a unique smell no matter which one you went into. Like the combined smell of all its products.

They smell unique, but not always bad.. not good but not bad.

However...

Walmart especially smells of a few acres of land raped of any naturally occurring thing and the manky soulless rusting of mindless objects created by the collective misery of chinese slave labour, trading thier childhood for tiny scraps of change that wouldn't even purchase the useless crap stacked on those occursed shelves. All the while blighting the wholesome mom and pop specialty shops that provided quality items before the giant festering rectum scab we call Walmart stamped the horizon with its enormous bleeding blue eyesore. .... that and a hint of citrus.

Excellent imagery.

I remember when I was about 12 and walking into Woolworths and asking my friend what that smell was.....his answer 'poverty'....brilliant, it cracked me up at the time.

I'm surprised I haven't found Walmart with them yet.......maybe in the near future.
Our local 'Wally World' superstore has them.

Its nice to think there is a Next equivalent as I love it so much, having said that I am sure their stuff is going downhill in quality right now!
I am looking forward to being able to shop in Banana Republic at a whim!
