I get most of my work clothes from Laura - they have petite and plus stores too. Reasonable prices and all the stuff I have bought there has washed and worn very well.
NB - I always buy at sale time! There are some great bargains to be had then.

I miss Waitrose too. I also agree that millets is no comparison to MEC.
Waitrose might be the one thing I miss most about the UK (or at least the places that had one!). Just wonderful for so many reasons. All I have now are my self-scan bags...Supermarkets here are awful for so many reasons.

Nah, Le Chateau is less fashion forward and more tacky than Top Shop imho. The closest you get to Top Shop are other universal chains like Urban Outfitters with a smattering of American Apparel. I may have thought too long about this...
Oh, cop on to yourself, they're not so bad! And I say that as a die-hard No Frills girl (but then I never had the budget for Waitrose when I lived in the UK).

Supermarkets here have less choice BUT our local Superstore and Safeways are always so quiet the shopping experience is much nicer than our old Tesco. (Waitorse was quiet but too expensive.)
Eating out is cheaper too so we get to do that more, which more than makes up for the supermarkets. This keeps my OH happy as I am no domestic godess

I sat eating meatballs & chips in the Etobicoke Ikea one Saturday. Gazing out of the window at the QEW, I could have sworn I was in Brent and looking at the North Circular!
Kind of comforting, though.
