This weeks silly question/s

Hi all. We are travelling to Toronto on the first part of our two week reccy trip, arriving on the 20 Sept 08. I have one silly question, to satisfy Tina's 'sweet toothed addiction', that may lead to another silly question.
Is it possible to buy twinkie bars in Toronto?
If so at what stores.
If twinkie bars are not available in Toronto, my second silly question is how difficult is it to travel between Canada and the US?
Bearing in mind we are 'tourists' in both countries.
Our higher car includes travel into the US and we will be carrying our passports.

I didn't dare travel to the US when I was on holiday in Vancouver, I heard a woman in the Wi-Fi lounge (using her skype or summat) complaining about the border guards cracking down on people travelling over the border

I've always wanted to know what these Twinkie Bars are all about .

They must have chocolate in them ? Even the name sounds yummy :p.

Twinkies are a plain sponge bar, sorry no chocolate involved, about 3 inches long by 1 inch square that has butter cream injected into it so that the cream fill the 'pockets' within the sponge. Tina can eat a box in the time it takes me to eat 1. I find them far to sweet.

Dont know if you can buy them in TO but if you have a hire car its easy to drive to the border at Niagara or Buffalo, crossing is straightforward. I still have to enter the US on my British passport at this stage so its just a $12 fee fill out a card and stuff, no biggie. Re-entering Canada is even more straightforward.

I'm sure we can get Twinkies here in Walmart, so you shouldn't have a problem in TO.

Mind you I could be remembering I saw them in Walmart, Montana - not helpful really.:o

I've seen them in many stores in Regina so you shouldn't have problems in TO

Good luck on your reccie

V sorry DB -

we decided to go across to States at Niagara so that the could could see Buffalo and could ay - oooh we went to America too.

Pulled up at customs/immigration thing on the bridge and the guard wasnt having any of it . . . loads of questions

how long for

more and moe -kept repeating them to see if I would change my answers

I kept saying we just want to go into Buffalo and see what it looks like and then go and see Niagara from your side then come back = 4 hours tops!

He took our passports andwe had to go to a little office and expalin it all again - luckily 2nd chap was more undertstanding - particularly when I said right forget it I dont want to come into the states now thans you very much!

PS what does gitmo'd mean?

Glad this came up ... it didn't even occur to me that a trip to Seattle from Van may be a problem; something I was planning on doing. Anyone else have this experience?
