WE MADE IT!

Finally! The house is packed and scrubbed, the furniture is sailing the ocean, and here we are on Canadian soil at last. Even our suitcases arrived.. albeit 12 hours after we did. I have a workaholic husband, and a nearly 5 year old daughter, and will be moving into Oakville next week (Ford area). If any other expats in the area feel like throwing me a social life line I'd be very grateful! I'm plucking up the courage to join the Newcomers club next week.
Yippee!!!

Well done!!

Time for a sit down and a cup of tea if you ask me. Well earned pat on the back to you, sorry cant help you with the social side of things as still in Blighty stressing and waiting and forking out money. Going to the other side of Canada to you as well, but again I say well done.

Our luggage was about 12 hours behind us, it must be a character building test that Air Canada spring on new immigrants from the UK

Congrats!

-- the movers just started to pack my apartment today, will land, probably without our suitcases, on Wednesday evening in Vancouver, so sorry, can't do much for your social life, but will be trying to find one myself between working full-time (or looking for work full time, not yet sure which, ah the suspense!!!) and taking care of my 6 year old.

I think it was the half eaten jar of Marmite that caught Homeland Security eye in Chicago :)

Hi Sally

Welcome to Oakville! We've been here since last November, hubby and me, plus three daughters (13, nearly 5 and just 2). Not sure if we can personal message on this forum, but I'll have a look round the site and write back in a bit. More than happy to meet up ...

Cheers
Jo
