i dont mind going over and integrating supporting a local hockey team but i must admit it was one of my biggest concerns not seeing England play or any of the league games! such a relief

The only thing i cant see and cant seem to get around it is the GAA from Ireland. Gonna have to miss Dublin winning the all Ireland again.

During the football season TSN show EPL matches as do Sportsnet World (what was Setanta). SNW also shows SPL and English Championship matches and various highlights programmes during the week. There is more than enough football available to watch.

Re: Watching U.K TV from Canada
The Euro 2012 games are shown live on BBC iPlayer or the ITV equivalent. I watched the England/France game on ITV's website the other day.
What annoys me when this subject comes up is that the same people respond saying the same crap- "I dont get what the fascination with UK TV is".
Fine, dont watch it.
Like many others, I find Canadian TV awful... but also terribly expensive and riddled with adverts. I no longer pay for a cable subscription, and instead stream everything from UK content providers. Yes, there's still adverts to put up with (albeit less than in Canada) but it allows me to watch what I want, when I want..... for free.
If you want to watch UK tele, there are now plenty of cheap and easy ways to do it.
If you dont want to watch UK tele, the good news is you dont have to.

The ability to express oneself without resorting to denigrating insults can be useful, dontchaknow.

I'm just fascinated at the amount of effort (or not as is often the case with TV) people go to watch it. Fancy moving all the way across the planet to have most days seemingly consisting of go to work, go home, watch telly, go to bed.
Surely it can't be that bad can it
Are we so dependant on the TV for entertainment? It seems like many people have an addiction to it in that they can't go without.
Fascinating

In addition to BBC News telus also has BBC Canada however it seems to have a limited number of programs like Top Gear, Graham Norton, Torchwood and property shows. My tv has a free BBC news app which I like.

I don't really have an opinion as such this one. if people want to watch lots of TV (UK or not) then good for them.
