Re: Walmart now has a British section
Damn, not in the GTA. A new one has opened not five minutes up the road from me so maybe I should pop in there to check it out and see if they have any of this stuff.
Was it in an international foods aisle or just spread throughout their other food aisles?
I actually work in a Walmart, I don't work for Walmart, I work for myself but I rent the space for a sales centre inside one of their superstores. Walmarts vary a lot, the one I am in is really quite pleasant, with fully tiled floor (rather than the bare concrete that a lot of them have). The British Section has been here for at least 18 months and provides a great source of stocking fillers and a regular supply of twiglets which I enjoy feeding to my Canadian friends just to see their expression of horror when they realise that it is most definitely not a pretzel. If you are a people watcher, like me, its a great place to spend a few hours of the work day. It should be obligatory for psychology students.
Which one?

Re: Walmart now has a British section
My local store has very limited food stuffs, mostly junk food, and frozen foods. (the town limited how much space the store could have dedicated to food, and what types of food it could sell, so no produce, meat etc.)
No British section that I have seen, some random items here and there though like Marmite, and only Mexican anything is Old El Paso, which isn't Mexican so can't really count it...
I wish some store here would offer a decent selection of real Mexican stuffs so I could make Mexican dishes.....nowhere to even buy Mexican food....

If an item is cheaper at Bulk Barn than at Walmart, I'll get it at Bulk Barn. It's great that you can afford to stick with what you think is right but many can't because their bank balance is not letting them do so.

They never used to have this selection, it's only as a result of becoming a 'supercentre' and selling fresh stuff.

In the store I was in it was all in one section but no signs to identify it as such. Not even anything to mark the aisle as including international stuff. Same aisle but further along there was an Indian selection but most of everything else just looked ordinary stuff.

What makes you think they are miles from anywhere? Of the five that I can think of in Brampton, only one is out of the way (but if you live in that area it is next door as opposed to being out of the way).

Which location...there is more than one Walmart in Oakville. If I cannot get this stuff at any of the ones here in Brampton, I will stop in the next time I am in Oakville but need to know the specific location please.

I think there is only 1 actually in Oakville, 234 Hays Boulevard, Trafalgar and Dundas. If you come in, stop by and say hello, I am next to the portrait place at the front of the store. You never know, I may still have some sherbet lemons.

Couldnt get proper(they were either sugary or had some kind of meat in them) baked beans or veggie(frozen) burgers on our last visit to Canada.
