I just bought one from tehre a month or so ago. In fact I bought this one:

http://www.voltageconverters.com/cgi...tion&key=VC200

which is a 200W rated one and was only $19.99(US) which was pretty damned cheap compared to some I have seen. They have various ratings there from 100W up to thousands of watts for a lot more money and proffesional industrial ones too.

I got mine to power my guitar amplifier as it is only a 40W amp so i figured 200W would do. I've used it lots and had no problems with it. It's fused etc. I also threw in a $3 plug converter because the converter only has north american plug sockets on it.

Obviously it's not designed for 24/7 continuous use but if you just have it on when you are using the appliance and then turn it off afterwards I can't see any issues. I have accidentally left it switched on all day and night once and it didn't even get remotely warm and it makes no noise(i know some of them do hum). Perhaps the higher rated ones hum if you put more load on them.
