I would like to announce that... we have finally..... and with just 8 days to go before we fly out........ exchanged on the bl**dy house........ now doing the round of goodbyes...... if anyone has a spare bottle of starch for my wobbly upperlip I would be very glad of it at the moment (that and a full night sleep) ;)

Well done! Nearly there. A good bottle of wine before you go to bed is recommended. Not looking forward to all the goodbyes myself but mind you having fallen out with half the family over the last couple of weeks there wont be many to say goodbye too!!!!

Good luck to you and your new future I wish you well and wish it was us. :)

Congratulations!!! We've finally got a buyer for our house and hoping it goes smoothly after being messed about previously.

Was there many in the chain? I'm just trying to estimate timescales, our buyer has sold their house to a relative (first time buyer).

Have you got somewhere to rent in Canada?

Have a few   to celebrate!

Karma on its way

Well done guys  As with Morwenna we exchanged after the fact - nerve wracking especially as, as soon as he knew we were despertate he started to hang on and got us to do stuff with the survey that if we had time to negotiate we would have done  Our Bl***y solicitors fault for not doing what they said they would  SO sending you Karma and have a safe uneventful journey :D

Re: on a very happy note

But we were in the fortunate position that, having had our sale grind to a halt in the 11th hour, a couple came along who were even more desperate to move into our place than we were to sell it!

I was moving out in 2 weeks to rejoin my family, and they had to leave their place then too, (they offered the full price, had a mortgage all arranged and I threw in the car!!) .... and they didn't see why our collective solicitors couldn't fix it!! ... in fact it took a further 2-3 weeks after I left! :D

Congrats that's great news. We are another exchanged after we landed case and it wasn't a great experience!

Don't worry about sleeping, go out with the friends and family you want to say goodbye to, eat lots and drink lots and you will have your best nights sleep when you finally land believe me. I didn't sleep that well for about a month before we left, but I also hadn't been so in demand either and don't think I had a night where I didn't have people round or go out somewhere, it was FANTASTIC :D

I haven't slept since Heth got her job offer... We've still got months and months to go... Can't stop thinking about all that needs to be done before we can leave, and then what the hell we are going to do when we get there!...

So very tired.
