I visit Vernon every once in a while to meet my pal who lives right on Okanagan Lake. I have always thought it was a nice place with a decent flying club and airfield.
Best wishes for your future there.
Thanks. Lincoln is fairly culture free and from what weve seen in the first few weeks Vernon is not much different but we found Lincoln to be very flat and you definitely couldn't say that about round here.

We're about 10k south of Vernon but only one month in so it's too early to claim any expertise. From what we've seen so far apart from a few blocks in the centre there's nowhere I'd be uncomfortable about living but this is only first impressions.

We assumed when we came on our recce trips that we'd go to Kelowna more often than not but so far we've found more in Vernon than we expected.

Phone an Autoplan insurance broker in Vernon to get an idea of what ICBC will charge. They'll want to know how many total years of driving experience you have, class of use, amount of liability, collision, deductibles, etc. and other options, in addition to what you noted in your post.

I have another question to keep you all busy...... I have held an Ontario Driver license for 3 years (full) and have no suspensions or fines , insurance is in good order with no claims, can you give me a ball park figure for insurance in Vernon for a 2011 Silverado!!! Yeah I know it's hard but a basic idea would be good

Cheers
Roger
