Slow saturday night....I was going through my collection of Vancouver photos and felt like posting some on here.

First tour - some of Vancouver's better known buildings # 1:

The flack building is nice. There a quite a few nice buildings as you head east on hastings.

Yes there are. There's a developer call Sallient that has saved and restored a ton of buildings in that area. They have single handedly rebuilt Maple Leaf Square, the Flack, Paris Block, and a number of others.

I like the Edwardians down that way, though some are a bit tired looking:

The area is changing fast though ...not sure how far east it will go though.

Apartment Buildings # 1

Early bylaws in vancouver did not allow for apartments above 6 floors, not many were ever built due to land being cheap and available which resulted in most early residents building houses. that being said, some great Art Deco and Edwardians can be found dotted about the city:

No doubt....Vancouver has some great buildings, but they mostly tend to be out of the newer centre and are often overlooked. It's nice to just appreciate them for what they are. I will keep them coming.
