Actually, I am one of the 'old people who live in Victoria'. I am almost 80 yrs. old. I have just returned from a very active vacation in Alaska.
Usually. I walk at least 5 km. a day when I am at home in Victoria
Please do not assume that all old people are incapable of physical or mental activities
Many of us are well educated and have more than one University degree from more than one country, myself included.which helps when we offer to tutor in the community.
We are very much alive and active. We sing in choirs, volunteer in the community, help one - on - one with students in need.
Please don't ever despise us. IF YOU ARE LUCKY you may , one day be ONE OF US , old folk
Please do not write us off. We are very much alive and active in our communities

I bet I could take most of them out in hand-to-hand combat. Bless 'em, the old dears.

Perhaps , if you wish, and the timing is right,we could meet up for a drink at the place I mentioned .
I would like to see someone from BE face to face. If not , that's OK. You can PM me, one way or the other

I'd be delighted to be the physical manifestation of the British Expats and I'm sure colchar, auldyid and orly, in particular, would be pleased to have me represent them. The plan is to be in Victoria on the Monday of and the Tuesday following the Labour Day weekend. However, given that the events of the weekend itself promise to be, er, difficult, even by the standards of large family occasions, I am not able to commit to any sort of post-event activity before seeing who still stands. Will have to review on the Monday.
