Can you change your reservation to the Coast Coal Harbour downtown? Stanley Park would only be a short walk away, and you could would not need a car to get around as everything would be within walking distance.

We stayed in a Coast hotel on Comox, it was a short walk from Stanley Park (though a long walk from anything else).

thanks everyone, no we can't change the hotel, I got 2 nights for free with vouchers I had, but the skytrain is 2 blocks away, and the hotel do a free shuttle from the airport.....and we both love WALKING, so we wont hire a car...and the sky train will take us to the cruise port on Monday morning, and I presume back to the airport the following week....if not we will get a taxi!!

The skytrain doesn't go to the airport, but check and see if the Airport Bus goes by your hotel, there's one that does a loop through downtown. Bon voyage!

The Canada Line is technically one of Vancouver's Skytrain lines, and it does go to the airport.

And as it runs from Waterfront directly to the airport (as long as she gets on the right train) it is perfect for Monique.

King Ed is a good station to get off. Lots of coffee, restaurants and bars heading north along Cambie St toward Broadway. Same at Yaletown Station.

Good guide

It actually started service on August 17, 2009, about 15 weeks ahead of schedule.

I just want to thank u all again for info to help on our few days in Vancouver.....altho it ended up only one, as our flight outta LA to Vancouver was cancelled on Sat, so with only a few hours sleep Sat night, we arrived into sunny Vancouver early Sunday morning, we went straight to hotel, freshened up....and walked to the skytrain, which was 10 mins walk away, cost only $5 for the 2 of us, to travel to the waterfront, where we had lunch in the cactus club, was very nice, then walked all along the river front, into Stanley Park, up to the totum poles, and back to Gastown, where we had a drink in Guilt and Company, and then walked across and had an Indian in the Sitar, where tonnes of other English's decided to dine too, then back on the skytrain back to the hotel.....I was very surprised at how many Brits were walking around the river front and Stanley Park...the weather was amazing, and I really liked Vancouver, the skytrain does take u from the cruise port to the airport....at a cost of $8 for the 2 of us.....loved the transportation to get around, as I have never lived in a big town with any kind of transportation.....so thanks again all....for your input....p.s. the cruise was amazing too, and the weather was also amazing, we were very lucky, we got some great pictures of the scenery, but this was the prize shot....
