Vancouver breaks Sunshine record.

http://globalnews.ca/news/748467/vancouver-sunshine/

No rain yet for July, and none in the forecast until August 2nd.

" July 2013 will go down in the record books as being the only month that had absolutely no rain at all, measurable or not."

"at 9:42 a.m. today Vancouver broke the record for the sunniest July since 1985. Vancouver has recorded 388 hours of sunshine and with only two days left in the month of July, the city could break another record for the all-time driest July ever. "

I must say so far this summer, this has been the nicest I can remember in the 10 years I have spent in BC.

Can we revisit this thread after summer
If there was a BE pool going Id bet on the 1st thread about somebody from Vancouver bitching about the rain will appear in November and then every month after until May 2014.

In the 4 years I've been here, only one year had an "eh" summer, most of the time the weather has been great during the summer months. This year has been exceptionally good though.

Maybe you have stolen the rain...lol

You can tell coastal BC isn't accustomed to long periods of no rain, I've heard a few people complain about how we need rain, we will run out of water, 30 days is too long with no rain, and various variations.

I am from a desert originally so 30 days of no rain for me is the best present ever, rain is not something I am fond of. Longest stretch I have been through without any rain was just around 300 days but that was in San Diego...lol

Vancouver would simply die going that long with no rain...

Makes up for the average 60 hours of sunshine per month for November through January.;)

This is my 9th Vancouver summer and ive never had a bad one. Last year it didnt start til July 4th (my mate emigrated that day) but it went on for ages cos I was out on the runway marshalling in planes and i went through a lot of sun cream.

Best job ever, working with airplanes...:)

Used to work for an airline, miss marshaling planes at times, and the smell of the ramp.

Fifteen summers in my case and they have all been good. June is often a bit damp but sometime around the start to middle of July it turns around and then it is unlucky to get anthing resembling rain, maybe a couple of overcast days with showers, till past thanksgiving.

Of course, once it does start raining in october it rains properly.

Particularly weird for an ex Fleet St printer and graphic designer by trade. Being under a wing with the engines going trying to unplug the GPU took a while to get used to.

I now drive the disabled around. Oh the stories.

Only in Vancouver.
