Vancouver, a bit meh.

I'm liking the realism on this thread. The originator seems to have decided France is a better bet than Canada and, really, who can argue with that?

If you arrived in Vancouver when property prices were reasonable, you might have a lower cost of living.

If you like having the great outdoors on your doorstep, appreciate the beauty of the temperate rainforest and want the convenience of a city of reasonable size (international airport, a few speciality shops, ethnic food beyong butter tarts and poutine), Vancouver is great. If you are looking for London, New York or Paris on a budget, you won't find it here.

Calgary is unbearable in the winter - its minus a million degrees and in the summer the mosquitoes are the size of crows and eat people.

Amen to Calgary, thats why I'm up north in St. Albert. The climate isn't too bad here.
Don't know what those two are on about! :p

The mozzies weren't that bad in Calgary this year compared to last year and compared to most other places in Canada. And as for the temperatures, well St.Albert is way colder on avaerage than Calgary!
