Default Vancouver Bisto gravy granules?

Anywhere in Van I can buy gravy granules? Amazon is slaughtering me, hoping to stock up. (Sorry, I had to 😆)
Real Canadian superstore here in pg used to do it but they stopped and even offering to buy bulk they won't bring it back.
Thanks.

I have seen industrial size packs in some Vietnamese grocers on Kingsway (between Fraser and Knight).

I don't think I ever had Bisto. My parents always did their own gravy with meat juices, cornflour and veg water and I do the same.

Occasionally, someone in the family wants a gravy and maybe the meat or the means of cooking it isn't conducive to a good gravy. So I've made use of a Club House mix and it's not bad.

Is this just one of those cases where Brits swear by Bisto because that's simply what they've been used to or is it better than Club House?

Do clubhouse actually do a ready mix gravy like bisto? I thought they only did browning/ thickener- like the stuff you add to "proper" gravy.

I bring my own bisto veggie gravy over because I presumed you couldn't get it here.

They do little packets of turkey and chicken gravy (I can't say I can tell which is which), pork gravy, 'brown' and mushroom and some others.

I don't know how Bisto works. On telly it always seemed to be just add water - like their chip shop curry granules.

Club House is to mixed with water, brought to bol and simmered. Rather like making one's own gravy.

You can just use water but it works just as good with the way you make gravy.

Yeah that's what I want- boil the kettle, stir the granules in a mug, pour it on. And that's what my daughter (who's the main gravy eater in the house) wants too!

The British Shops in the Lower Mainland all sell Bisto granules. Google that sh*t!

Have a look on the Amazon UK site and find sellers who send internationally.

These are usually cheaper than the same products advertised on the Amazon Canada website anyway.

This is often because the UK sellers have a fixed postage price which is often below cost on some items.

We get Bisto BEST delivered, which is better than normal Bisto anyway.

We also get PG Tips via sellers on Amazon.ca - usually $9 for 160 bags including delivery, although last order (currently on its way) was 2 x 240 size boxes for $24.99 delivered as best value current price.

I have used them before - usually for xmas treats. But now that Walmart sells so much Brit stuff there isn't really the "need" except for things like Cumberland sausage which is impossible here.

Can't use clubhouse packets, mostly because I allergic to garlic. But we make gravy in bulk round here, so it's not a 'Brit is best' thing. It's a best tool for the job.
I did google it but that still listed my local superstore as a distributor and I know for a fact they haven't had it for a year. I'm in van for under two days, so wanted a good idea of where to start so I don't spend all our time there searching for haggis and gravy. Thought I'd ask here for up to date info.

Not sure where you live but The Black Pudding in Langley stocks them. You can buy the Bisto powder in a lot of places, I get mine from the independent store on Davie Street.
I would avoid The Celtic Treasure Chest like the plague. I went in there once when I fist moved here and EVERYTHING was out of date by I considerable period of time. I picked up a bottle of Robinson's fruit and barley, the bottle was concaved. When I checked the date on it it was 18 months out of date!!! I never went back.
I manage to get a lot of British stuff from different places, Yorkshire tea, weetabix and Ryvita from London drugs. Heinz beans and golden Syrup from Save on Foods. British Cadbury's and Walkers Crisps from the Candy Store on Robson.
Maybe you know someone who is going to the UK for and could bring some back for you, I'm going in September and stock up on things like that.
