Vancouver
Hi all, my wife and I with our 1 year old daughter are planning a trip to UK in July/ August and thinking about spending a few days in Vancouver on the way over. Has anyone any views or advice on this. (the other option is San Francisco as I believe we have visited all the other possible stops).
Thanks :p |
Re: Vancouver
Well it really depends what you want from your few days. The city is nice, as far as citys go, but there is plenty around if you want to visit places.
The ferry is not far where you can go whale watching on Vancouver Island, visiting Victoria is nice. You could take the ferry to the Sunshine Coast, we are strange here, but it is beyond beautiful. The zoo is an hour from the city, towards Abbotsford, something which perhaps your child would enjoy. I would say given the chance, then take it to visit Vancouver, whilst San Fran is nice, it is not a patch on the beauty of BC. But like I said, it really does depend what you want to get out of it. There are also the water slides in Bridal Falls, which is a fantastic day out, and kids seem to love it. |

They are both fabulous cities to visit. San Francisco has more of a big city buzz, Vancouver more natural beauty. I doubt the one year old will care much either way.

Re: Vancouver
I was in Vancouver in September with my 3 year old and had a great time. Buses have a dropping step for getting buggies on, nobody looked at us as if how dare you have a child with you, Stanley park was brilliant for my son to run around, no problems anywhere we went so I would say enjoy Vancouver.
