Re: Vancouver??
Try contacting Shadi Norman on [email protected] or on www.jobsearch-in-canada.com My wife and I have used Shadi as our immigration lawyer and employment consultant. We first met her at last years emmigrate show in London and also saw her at her home in Vancouver during our research trip last May. She has guided us through the PNP and obtained a job offer for myself. The bottom line; permanent residents visas are in our passports, house on the market and hoping to arrive in BC sometime in the summer.

That's less than C$60k per year. If you're thinking of buying a house in Vancouver, I hope you have a hefty deposit.

Re: Vancouver??
Haven't there been posts by other people being offered pretty much the same thing, only for the rate to drop to $20 - and then not even guaranteeing that upon arrival? I'm sure I remember seeing something similar round here somewhere.

Re: Vancouver??
Oh right. Well so long as you're confident about Canadian Employment Law, employees' rights, etc, go for it.

I take it by what your saying that contracts are not worth the waste of paper
i hope not  #1 construction company to work for in Canada. Over the years I have seen their projects all over Vancouver and I did not hear of any negatives about that company. I do not think they will mess around with your contract. They clearly posted the ethical conduct policy on their website and it appeared fair . I checked the BC better business bureau and there are no complaints recorded against them. Hope that helps. Yoong |

Well if you worked 42hrs you would earn more than 60k. I know guys on contract crews, they can't work more than 40 hours per week - 37.5 in some cases - they're not happy Alberta-bunnies this time of year - were hoping to rake it in here Construction ProjMan couldn't get more than $50k p.a so heading back to AB after just 4 months.
