Vaccination passports from the EU ? Accepted in Ontario and other provices?
Hi,
I've been double vaccinated in the EU with Biontech / Pfizer. I don't only have the yellow WHO vaccination passport, but also the QR code certificate issued by many EU countries.
Is this accepted as a vaccine passport / proof of vaccine across provinces in Canada? Or is there another hurdle to overcome?

Individuals who have received a partial or complete COVID-19 vaccine series outside of Ontario or Canada should contact their local public health unit to have their COVID-19 immunization record documented into COVaxON
If you received your vaccines outside Canada, it’s still accepted but proof of vaccination must be uploaded digitally in ArriveCAN and must only be in French or English, or certified translation into French or English.
The province will continue to work with the federal government to ensure the integration and interoperability with a national vaccine passport for the purposes of international travel

BC will accept whatever vaccine proof you used to enter Canada + your passport.
If your relocating to BC, you just need to provide the proof to the province and they will upload it to your health gateway account, and you would then be able to the secure electronic version being released soon.
The full details haven't been released yet and wont until next week, but based on the info that has been released, BC doesn't seem to be placing massive hurdles for those vaccinated outside Canada, and if the feds accept your proof to enter, BC is fine with it.
Other provinces of course may vary.
BC only plans to use their provincial proof until the feds release theirs then BC plans to migrate to the federal one.

The reason, I was asking is that federal and provincial can be very very different in Canada.
However if Canada wants to accept fully vaccinated non-Canadians as tourists into the country, one is lead to believe they would accept the QR code from the EU.
After all, this QR code from the EU would exempt you from quarantine upon entry.
But logic and politics are often very very different matters.

I think until the "secure, electronic" vaccine passport comes out in Ontario on Oct 22 it will be a mixed bag depending on the restaurant employee, whether you want to go to that restaurant badly enough that if the host(ess) refuses you you want to ask to speak to the manager, call the police to verify your records, etc, or just go somewhere who won't scrutinize it and just say "hey, they're vaccinated, all good."
Once the secure one comes out in Oct I am assuming that if you register your vaccine with public health you will be able to get that one, but that is only an assumption.
