Utility Providers in Barrie

Good Afternoon,

We will be relocating to Barrie within the next couple of weeks and I would like to ask anyone in the know about the various energy and internet providers.

Currently we are using Entegrus for our water and Hydro and Union Gas.

Are the same providers operating in Barrie ? If not who would you suggest linking up with?

Who is the best provider of Broadband internet in the Barrie Area?
I know that Bell and Rogers like to provide the whole package but all I require is a good Broadband provider without need for cable tv and a home phone (does anyone use a landline now??).

Thanks for your help.

Regards

Farmboy.

Some people do still have a landline because they prefer to have one in addition to cel or smart phones.

There ARE still people who do not have cell phones etc

A landline is necessary in most places if you need to have a personal Medic Alert alarm.

Thanks for input Scilly.

You make a good point however I am not sure about your capital letter use with the word are. The comment was not meant to be derogatory!!!

I agree, and that would be all we want too (OK, maybe add Netflix and NHL TV - both IP streaming services). I looked into precisely this, BUT the cost of having internet only was about the same as a 'full bundle' including TV and landline (that is to say, both expensive!).

Still keeping my eye out for competitive Internet only suppliers for I can junk my Rogers package.
