While tidying up the spare room I came across a letter from a building society which got me thinking about some premium bonds I had as a kid, a few searches on google later got me to this site :

Its a free old National Savings, Building Society and bank account finder.

I thought this might be a useful link for expats like me who had lost
all hope of finding those old bank accounts.
