Urgent question for IT geeks

Anyone familiar with Basecamp (web-based project collaboration thingy)?

Does it work?

Can not very computerate people learn how to use it quickly?

Is it secure (very important, this bit)?

If I've never heard of a product, I tend to go by first impressions of their own website and in particular their home page. I've just checked it out. Won't MS Project do for you? Even MS Outlook can provide basic project type activites like task management, calendar, notes, etc.

I wouldn't call myself a geek though. I like the term, "non-centric specialist" better.

I gather that my computer nerd son exchanges information on topics like this at Slashdot.

Depends how much it costs I guess..... if that's not an issue I'd look at Sharepoint instead :-

Unfortunateley many companies specify which software they want you to use to collaborate with them... I went through this in automotive one time with D-C.
