Urgent; Flatmate??
 

I've been planning to move to Canada for a year (With BUNAC) along with a friend. With only a month until we were going to arrange everything, he drops a bomb and tells me he isn't going with a lame excuse. I'm not going to go into politics with this guy, but lets just say he's not on my 'top 10' friends anymore. Lol.

Right, I really don't want to do it alone. I know i'll be far happier with someone to share the whole experience with, and someone to cheer me up with a beer when I'm homesick.

I'm planning on living in Toronto, but until December i'll really not be 100% sure. Then again, Banff would be nice.

It's all up in the air with recent events to be honest.

BUNAC make it very easy - they arrange flights with other BUNACers and have regular events. Don't worry they'll be plenty of people to have a beer with.....

My nephew came to Calgary and then moved to Banff after a few weeks. He got a job in Banff with accommodation and basically everyone he worked with were similar to himself, single, lonely, from all over the world. He made some great friends and he found people were coming and going all the time and he really enjoyed the whole experience. So if you decide on Banff, I am sure you will not be allone for long.

The accommodation boards* at the universities are great for finding rooms in shared houses, especially if you want to cast out from the BUNAC comfort zone and live with some Canadians.

I ended up in a great house on the UBC campus, way back when.

Hi

My brother is currently in Banff on Bunac, he has been there since Sept. He went alone and has made lots of friends, he is 21, he is now planning to move on to Vancouver for the 2nd half of his trip.

He is currently staying within his work placement (kind of like uni halls) I believe this option is really cheap, through this he has met people and they are now trying to find somewhere to rent all together.
