Re: University degrees or not?

There is those that wish they could,
those that wish they had,
those that hope they will,
and those that are glad they did.
If you did, well done and good luck,
If you hope to,may your dreams come true.
But remember this, all of those additions and adornments are some thing that you add to yourself. But it does not make you any better than the person beside you.
I have the greatest respect for those who have strived to further their education.I loath anyone who thinks that they are of a better social station because of their occupation, education, religeous beliefs, accident of Birth etc.
I belive that we are all equal on this earth, and that we are trying to do the best job we can.

Hi Thornhill - if this mesasge was directed to me I think you misunderstood my message.

Believe me, my plumber, electrician, carpenter and others in the trade of "saved" me more times than I could ever mention - especially when things happen when the husband is away.

I don't think for a moment that I'm better than anyone else - we are all created equal on this earth - we just follow different dreams.

I have some very good friends that are "tradesmen" and families and we share some very special moments when the families get together.

To be fair I started out in the Development and Research department for Boots the Chemists.. (I’d like to think I was smart but my wife would be able to prove otherwise)

But having an Inclination for dabbling in Machine shops etc... drifted into the design side and dabbled in packaging and related machinery...

A few drifts sideways… in aerosols etc… and then into “innovationâ€? and finally to the breweries……†¦

Its much more fun than the chemistry... and the physics comes into the game much more than you would expect... and the machinery doesn’t come much bigger or more challenging than in a big brewery…

But to be honest the emphasis is on the Fun side along with the travel...

Best way to put it is… I followed the relevance of my degree but discovered I had a wider talent base…. And an inclination for fun rather than hard work…. :)
