Default Travel insurance (Canadian resident)

Can anyone anyone recommend cheap travel insurance? I’m traveling with my husband back to the uk for a couple of weeks. Quotes I’ve had so far have been well over a hundred and I only really want coverage for the cost of flights. I don’t usually bother with it but as it’s February and the weather is somewhat sketchy thought I should. Thanks

Do you not need coverage for your luggage and healthcare as well?

Not too fussed to be honest, I don’t take much and I’m staying with family. Medical always seems to be included anyway.

Some credit cards have travel, we have an RBC Visa that gives 15 days.

Second this - my Desjardins card gives about 3 weeks of travel and full medical insurance, plus the 1% cashback easily pays for the annual cost of the card, so you're really getting the insurance free... Be careful when shopping though - some credit cards which offer 'travel insurance' just cover cancellation, delays, bags etc, not medical treatment.

That was my plan as on the credit card it was only $69 but when I read the small print I had to have paid for at least 75% of the trip with that card to be covered. It was a new card so I hadn’t booked with that. 😡

For the medical coverage ours does not have that requirements, we are covered for day trip to the US or longer trips overseas. For trip interruption and cancellation then the trip has to be paid for on the card. Personally, I am more concerned about medical cover than the flights.

Yeah it will cover medical but not much point in paying that if I have to get insurance elsewhere to cover the rest. It’s a shame because that would’ve been a good deal
