Hi,i read yesterday that it is possible to "exchange" a UK driving licence to a Canadian one in Alberta,if this is the case, does the new Canadian licence entitle you to drive throughout Canada or just Alberta;any help would be very much appreciated,

There is no such thing as a Canadian driver's license. If you are resident in Alberta you must exchange your foreign license for an Alberta driver's license. You can use this license to drive anywhere.

However if you move from AB and take up residence in another province, say BC, you then need to exchange the license to a BC license. You also have to have held a full license for two years to do the exchange to an AB or BC license.
