UK NI Contribution Years run from April to April - like the tax year. You have to have made a certain minimum payment for each year for it to count. This is the LOL or Lower Earnings Level. It goes up in line with inflation.

Something no one ever learns about in school ! of course living in Canada once you start collecting your UK state pension & remain in Canada it will be frozen at the rate of when you started to collect it - unlike those living in the UK, the EU or the states where you will get the yearly 2.5% increase every year.:frown: |
