TWP/LMO Concurrent Processing and TWP application form...
 

Hi all,

Is it still possible to apply to London for a TWP whilst awaiting the outcome of an LMO application?

My new employer submitted the LMO application last week and I thought it may speed things up if I apply for my TWP now.

Also, should all go to plan, my wife and kids will be arriving after my 'landing' in Canada. Just to confirm (as I have loosely discussed this in a previous thread), do I put them on my TWP application form or do they require a seperate one as they aren't arriving with me? The CIC guidelines are so, so hazy.

Any help gratefully received.

And I believe you'd put your wife and children on your form, even if they're not accompanying you to start with.

We are in similar position, hubby is arriving first on a TWP and me and the boys are arriving later on once he has found a place to live, we were all on the form and paid for the childrens study permits at the same time, they wouldnt accept TWP application form without including the fee for the kids study permits. (came back twice when we tried to get TWP without these! so be warned)

Christmas, many thanks for the links, they are really helpful and clear the subject up, nearly...

Kate, how old does the child have to be to have a study permit, ours would be nearly 2 and a new born. Obviously quite a way off going to school, but if we need them now in preparation then so be it.

Also, I will put my wife and child on the form, however we are due our 2nd child in December, so we can't put him/her on it yet. Does anyone envisage any problems when my wife turns up at immigration with 2 children instead of 1?

Will you not need your LMO and contract first before applying for your TWP.....:confused:

No, as the OP said he's going to apply for them concurrently which is possible. If you read the CIC link I gave it should explain it.

Hi all,

Having read the wiki at http://britishexpats.com/wiki/TWP_:_...s_and_children, it is clear that I can't get my wife's SOWP at POE if we arrive seperately.

If I submit a TWP application to London, as well as an SOWP application for the missus, am I right in presuming we both get seperate letters instructing immigration to issue visas, and so can arrive seperately?

My kids are 9 & 16 so definatly school age, pre school you will not have to worry about their study permits. Im going to apply for my work permit when i get out there (when i get bullied into working!!)

They are pretty slow on the TWP processing at the moment though, Hubby has LMO and all the relevant paperwork needed and our has been in for 5 weeks so far

we are heading to BC, and other half is a Physio,we are also applying for PR at the same time, but they want Hubby to start asap hence the TWP application, although not proving as quick as we thought!!

We're (hopefully) off to Ottawa and I'm a civil engineer. I'm going on a TWP, but its a temporary with intent to permanent application (the employer makes it known when applying for the LMO that they will support my PR when I arrive).

Looks like London are a bit slow at the moment, I think if the LMO gets issued i'll just turn up at the border with it (and all the other stuff needed!). Just thought it would be easier to apply from here what with the wife and kids, but as long as I give her all the info she needs for when she arrives seperately, I guess she'll be ok.

Will be much quicker to get it at the point of entry, unfortunatly as hubby is in medical profession he needs a medical here first which mean we have to wait!! Other wise he would be gone by now.

But from what i have read not a problem with your wife and kids going seperatly. hope it all goes well.
