Re: Two weeks holiday
My OH only gets 2 weeks per year but can also accumulate time off instead of being paid overtime if he wishes. He had a couple of days off this week using overtime hours for moving into our house. :)

Re: Two weeks holiday
Even when it increases to 4 weeks there are many who do not use that extra time- still keep on working/carry unused time forward etc. These weeks are the most popular- the March breaks- and that is when we see many taking the week off for a vacation. Other than that we see many Canadians vacationing all summer over the weekends at their, or a family, cottage.

Re: Two weeks holiday
Speaking personally, I think the whole 2 weeks thing is a bit of a myth. I've yet to meet anyone here who only gets two weeks, and I know people in all sorts of lines of work. And I still haven't heard of anyone not taking their full holiday entitlement either, which I read lots about on here.

Oh, & can I just add....... I get 14 weeks off!!! :D  |
Re: Two weeks holiday
Definitely a myth - I get 50 weeks, and my OH gets about 20 weeks (give or take a week).

Re: Two weeks holiday
Sorry for my earlier post - bit caustic for me  But .......
.......Cant seem to see why this point gets brought up so often and why people think it is such a topic of conversation. Would the amount of annual leave you got actually stop you from moving to Canada - think that is the question people should ask themselves. Grumpy bird  |

Sound like Britian?. Would suggest that those who concern themselves with how much time off they will get in Canada would be well advised to remain in the UK..............................................;) |

Well if you want more than the 2 weeks people are saying you get - you'll have to weigh it up. But think if that is the be all and end all of emigrating to Canada then maybe you should think about it again
