If you're calling Florida from Canada (going by your location under your name), it's simply "1" followed by code for Florida, then number :)

Re: trying to phone usa help

just dial 1 + area code. e.g. 1-XXX-XXX-XXXX

Yeah. I cock up lots of phone numbers when I go to the UK (keep leaving off the initial zero). I'm not too good with doors, either, or crossing the road.

Isn't it just 1+area code+phone number- the same as phoning long distance in Canada? Are you phoning from Canada?
If you are in the UK it is 00+1+ area code+ phone number

Bloody hell!!!!!!!

We spent a month in a hotel room with just the one boy and that was bad enough. How many teenagers did you start off with?

I get confused between dialing international from the UK to Canada and vice versa... one is 011 + country code + area code & number, the other is 001 + area code & number... can never get it straight first time around... must be why my phone bill always ends up so high when I've made international calls *lol* :D

i am now down to 1 x hubby , 1 x 18 year old and 1 x 15 year old , no sanity , no patience and loads of grey hair , still smiling :) and desperately seeking a job

It's easy.

UK to Canada 001, area code, number.

Canada to UK 011 44, area code minus initial zero, number (if you're in a hotel there may well be a 9 in front of all that).
