Transporting Dog to Calgary
Hi,
I'm sure there have been loads of threads on this but i cant seem to find any  We have a Staffy and will ideally be looking to fly out of Manchester to Calgary Feb09, we have all the documents and pet passport. Can anyone recommend an agent to deal with this for me? I've googled it and i know there are loads but would I would be happier to use one someone had recommended! Also my OH and I will be going in on TWP would there be a problem taking the dog in with us? Thanks! Jen |
Re: Transporting Dog to Calgary
We used Air Supply shipping agents to bring the cats from Manchester.
www.airsupplyshipping.com There should not be any problem bringing the dog if you are on a work permit. |

Re: Transporting Dog to Calgary
Hi.
We're also taking our dogs to Calgary. I phoned a couple of airlines and spoke to the cargo department. I was quoted £1045 by British Airways and £700 by AirCanada, but if I book my dogs as excess baggage, I will pay approximately £109 per dog, but they cannot travel between December 15th and January 12th (there's some kind of restriction). The airline will tell you what documentation is required, i.e. Anti-Rabies Certificate, letter from vet stating good health, up-to- date on injections, worming and flee treatment. Personally, I am not paying out good money for somebody else to deal with all the paperwork when I can do it myself.... Our only problem is, is when we get to Lethbridge, we need to find a rental property that will allow pets! Any advice would be appreciated. :) Carrie |
Re: Transporting Dog to Calgary
When we brought our cats to Canada 2 years ago we used the agents Ladyhaye ....they were brilliant and not the most expensive either. Our contact there was always on the ball with what was happening with the cats when. (I was beside myself as they travelled a week after us. Ladyhaye organised picking them up from their cattery and boarding them on the flight.) They knew I was anxious about their welfare and were reassuring and professional.
Please do check them out as I couldn't recommend them highly enough. The cats arrived in Vancouver safe and well and were in a fab crate which we are still using for trips to the vet, etc.. Good luck!! http://www.ladyhaye.co.uk/ |
