transformers

Does anyone in the Calgary/Airdrie/Cochrane area have any transformers they no longer need and would like to sell. Especially for use with TVs and Video players. Our goods arrive from the UK next week and it would be nice to be able to set up these things. If not can anyone recommend where to buy them - we have not found a comprehensive electrical store yet?

I live south of Calgary. We have one that was big enough to run a tv, dvd, stereo and all manner of games consoles. It's yours for nought if you want it.

Re: transformers

That would be fantastic. I will talk to my daughter (who is the better navigator/driver at the moment) and maybe we could fix a day/time to come and fetch it. If you want to email me your address to <snip - email removed so you don't get spammed - please pm it> I will confirm with when my daughter gets back this afternoon.

Many thanks
VeeReid

Re: transformers

We purchased online/mail order step-up tranformers through these people (thanks to info supplied by BE member: rivingtonpike):

http://www.voltageconverters.ca

We now have a VC-2000W in the kitchen and a VC-3000W for the workshop.
Working well so far.

They are heavy bits of kit for a counter top - so don't ever image travelling with them

Not me. But I'd like to acknowledge AC's generosity.

BTW I've got a few (I think) somewhere in the garage if anyone local is looking.

If they are still in their boxes and the original ones they could be worth a pretty penny.

Not Optimus Prime though, he was common.

They all have a primary and a secondary.
