trampolines in calgary/alberta

if you've got a trampoline outside, do you still leave it outside in the winter?!

we've got our daughter one for christmas but not sure about putting it up then.
how does the rubber/springs handle the cold and snow? do you have to do anything to keep it ok during the winter?!

We have one of those with plastic tubing instead of springs and rubber, and we have left it outside in all weathers.

Two of our neighbours have "regular" trampolines and dutifully put them away each winter.

This is our one (from Costco if anyone is looking - buy them when you first see them in Spring 'cos a week later they will all be gone!!).

I've a regular trampoline. It's been out through ten winters or so without noticeable deterioration. My ex has one twenty years old, also left out, and has just replaced the springs for the first time. Mind, it could all be very different in Calgary.

Could posibly be better in Calgary, less snow and a dryer climate.

I've got to be honest - even if our one did have regular springs and rubber bits, I could not be bothered to put it away every year. They are a cumbersome pain the backside at the best of times. Once up, it's up!

Yes, it's not shovelling the snow off that does for the springs.

I agree.

The only caveat it would add is that you may wish to take off the cover for the springs and store that inside each winter.

This will be the fourth winter that our Walmart cheapy has done. The only wear it is showing is that, finally, the pipe laggging stuff on the uprights has finally gone and the spring cover is showing signs of wear, buy only in the area of the exit, for obvious reasons. We have never taken our one in.

As DBD has said, the amount of snow a 14' one accumulates is amazing, shovelling it when the amount gets above 6 inches will keep a huge weight off those springs.

Who said anything about shovelling snow?
