Trading in a car in the US

Anyone bought a car in the US, imported it into Canada, then traded it in back in the US please? Just wondering if you need to reverse the export / import process (i.e. export from Canada / import into the US), and if so, if it's worth doing?
Thanks,

We've done it privately but not through dealers.

My thoughts would be you imported the US vehicle at a very good price as opposed to buying it in Canada. Re trading it back in, in the US will probably only get you the US value whereas you might get a better deal if selling or trading it here in Canada, other than that I have no other info to offer.

Did you have to export it from Canada then import into the US? If so, was it expensive?
Thanks,

I believe we exported it(from Canada) but the buyer imported it(to the US), can't remember if there were any costs to us, I don't think so, it was about 3 years ago now, it was all very easy though.
