Answers strictly via PM I think would be best.

I haven't really got to grips with Toronto. The first few times I visited I hated it, thought it very small town. It's growing on me now, the last time I went was with a local and so I saw it in a different way.

If you want an upbeat view of TO then look at Rob's blog.

We live in London and despite it being congested its pretty cosy here.
I toronto we went downtown to the Eaton centre and found it was nothing as nice as the New Westfield center we have in lodnon.
Overall I give Toronto the thumbs down. Only place i liked was Niagra falls.
We were staying in Oakville for 5 days and Butlington for 7 days
Having lived in London, the word cosy never entered my vocabulary, Toronto is a city much the same as any other, it functions. Even Rome isn't 100 percent stunning!

Toronto does not feel as congested as London, there is more feeling of space. I am not going to bother getting into the comment about immigrants, seems such a weird thing to state on an expat site.

As for Niagara, stunning!!!! The town itself - I don't think so.......

York is lovely, as is Harrogate, Wetherby, Yeadon, and many areas within Leeds are very nice.

All cities have the good and the bad anywhere in the world i guess.

One less potential immigrant to Toronto. Can you spread the word for us so we don't have any of your friends visiting either? If your reasons for moving anywhere is whether it has a nicer mall than the Westfield, perhaps it's best to stay away from Canada full stop. It doesn't look like the kind of mall I'd plan on visiting more than once.

Toronto isn't London, and doesn't try to be. North America is a lot different to Europe and doesn't have the same kind of history. The only thing even closely in common is the language, though even the dialects are different. I find Toronto much easier and cheaper to get around in, espescially using public transport.

Niagara Falls is a wannabe Blackpool, though the Great Wolf Lodge is an improvement over Butlins. The US side as previously mentioned is even worse.

Do you have anything positive to say about your visit?

Nothing like. More than half the population of Toronto was born outside Canada, even Brent doesn't come anywhere close to that.

Even in absolute numbers Toronto has way more immigants. If the population is 3,000,000 that's better than 1,500,000 immigrants, London would have to be 25% immigrants to match that but it doesn't even have a 10% immigrant population. Only Miami has more immigrants by both measures than Toronto.

I chuckled. Sounded like something Yogi Berra would say. "Nobody goes there anymore, there's to many people" I thought it meant that all the immigrants had emmigrated so there were none. How one simple letter can change things ! The original post says that the place was full of emmigrants !
