Ah the tea-drinking ethnic ghetto of West Van and the British Properties.

That's not necessarily a bad thing. In a world where everyone's rushing around like moronic fat kids/adults on smarties, no time for self, kids, spouse, or others, it's a little refreshing (in a way) to drop a few gears and chill. On the other hand, expecting service from dull retards, or something to happen in the workplace, is the frustrating trade-off.

On the whole though, laid-back-ness and having an interest in things other than work/job/career is where it's at.

Yeah, but we've got a lot to be smug about.

Really??? Hmm, methinks another posting from a back-easter who knows nothing about the place, and sounds pretty smug and up himself.

Such as?

Incessant rain? Insane property prices? The looming prospect of the place being razed to the ground?

Merely commenting on my observations, particularly regarding the people, based on two trips and many other business dealings with folk from there.

My business dealings have put me together with people from all over Canada. I have been able to observe the differences.

Sure. Damned good reason for you not to visit again.

There might be hundreds of videos, but in reality it is just a few blocks.

I've also heard that the place is pretty strictly divided in three distinct social sections: Chinese, Indian (Asian Indian) and everybody else. I don't like the idea of people not integrating and mixing socially.
Eh? The Canadian way is that people can choose to integrate, or not to. They can choose how much to integrate and, by and large, others respect their decisions. Vancouver is the most racially and culturally integrated city I have found. (I am not trying to make a comparison with TO, as I have never lived there.)

Additionally, I'm not too sure about the limited theatrical and other cultural options in Vancouver.
There is a traditional arts scene. It's not London, Paris or Milan, but it's there.
