Toronto to Edmonton
Hi everyone,
We are planning a move to Edmonton in the spring and wondering if anyone could recommend a good moving company, we managed to move ourselves from England to Toronto last year but not prepared to do it ourselves this time...getting too old lol. Thank you in advance for any advice. Regards Lynn |
Re: Toronto to Edmonton
well one way is to use a POD, they bring it to your house, you load it up at your leisure or get paid helpers as i did, they collect it, its put on a truck out to Edmonton with other PODS and its delivered to your new home and again unload at your leisure or use paid helpers ?
Heres a link to their Canadian site. The Best Moving & Storage Idea Ever for Self Storage, Portable Moving and Storage Solutions | PODS I looked at using a moving company from Winnipeg to Edmonton and the only problem is that if your not the only ones furniture on that truck its going to get moved around a lot enroute to Edmonton and a higher risk of damage PLUS they wont give you a certain date so you may be waiting two weeks or maybe even three weeks, I used a POD instead, cost more but at least it took the guessing out of it. |

A snag with a POD is that it needs a firm flat surface, such as a driveway, at each end. It's good for suburb-to-suburb but doesn't work in cities nor in the country.
