Hi, Canadian citizen here moving back to Canada this summer with child who will have just finished GCSEs so will be starting (we think) Grade 12 (born October 2009). Having read and been confused by the TDSB website, can someone help me please

we understand we automatically have a place in the school within whose catchment we end up living please (so will need to choose where to live based on that?). Do they have to find us a place? What happens if they are full? We will miss the intake dates as will only be moving after exams are complete so around July. The TDSB talks about incoming students having to do assessments and that “Placement decisions are based on our evaluation of students’ academic standing and space availability at the requested TDSB schools”. Has anyone done this? Does this mean we may not get a place in our local school?!

are there any league tables of schools or way of finding rankings. Aware of Fraser Institute listing but also the cautions around it. Will be in state school.

TDSB talks about needing immunization record - has anyone got this from the UK and if so, is it something is a specific format required, letter from GP? Something else?

if there is somewhere I can find this, please let me know. Happy to Google search but am failing currently!

Edited to add - GCSE level is Grade 11
They will be assessed to ascertain what level of education they are at - to know what 'grade' they will be put in. It's a requirement for new students. :)

School selection will depend on where you live, so choose your location wisely: I don't know what happens if the school is full.

As for league tables / rankings - I don't think there are official ones. To get an idea about a school it's probably easiest to pick a school then do a google search for that school and 'reviews'. Here is an example: https://www.reddit.com/r/Etobicoke/c...d_martingrove/
