Toronto - apparently full of gays and lesbians?

Re: Toronto - apparently full of gays and lesbians?
I can't say where gay people are or are not, as it's not my scene, but I have not heard that Toronto is particulary for gays or against gays, so I would think they have a similar percentage as anywhere else in Canada. I would not let that aspect swing your vote to go there one way or the other !
Why that should be more of a concern than people being, say, obviously Jewish, is lost on me.

Re: Toronto - apparently full of gays and lesbians?
Toronto is unlike much of Canada in that it is routine to see same-sex couples going about their business as if being gay is not a concern to anyone except the people involved. It is usual to see couples holding hands, offering a peck on the cheek at the railway station, bantering over vegetable purchases. It's not that more people are gay in Toronto than in, say, Gander NF, just that more people are comfortable being obviously gay in Toronto.

My father in Spain lives one floor up from an ex drag queen. Most hilarious guy I've ever met and would not put me off one bit from living near him, quite the contrary.

Where I live now is mostly immigrants. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I had a text from someone before we built our house saying my area was full of immigrants.

This is all too complicated for me. I'll just continue working my way through this sample pack from Mill Street Breweries. The Stock, Coffee Porter and Organic Lager have gone down very well but I'm a bit reluctant to go for the Lemon Weissenbier in case it make me gayer than gay.
Should I risk it?

now this guy has just made an insult towards me, something i haven't done to anyone in this thread personally, yet you'll all back him against me, because i'm apparently a homophobe? which i'm not, by the way. would all you straight people re-locate to a mostly gay area? i just asked a question
Canada, not just Toronto, is probably one of the first countries to legally acknowledge same sex relationships. It is also one of the few countries in the world who does not look at race, gender, sexual preferences or skin color when it comes to immigration. It is precisely the reason why I feel at home there.
Bare in mind that Canada is also the "go to" place for the film and TV industry and that there is a high percentage of GLB people in that industry, you will be hard pushed to walk on any street anywhere without passing a couple of gay people. You may even stand next to one while having a leak.
You might have stood next to one at your local pub in your village near Birmingham, tonight.
My suggestion is that you look in to immigrating to a country where a person is stoned to death for having a same sex relationship. Might be more suitable for you.

I have taken to (occasionally) drinking that Rickards White stuff that comes with a slice of orange in it. Ordinarily, I'd say that that would make be gay, but the two actual gay men I know wouldn't touch it with a (nattily pink beribboned) barge pole. Based on an understandably statistically insignificant sample of the only two gay men I know, rum and coke is a gay drink. As is red wine. Oh dear.
