Toronto airport

Has anyone travelled through Toronto airport since the storm? I’m wondering what the luggage situation is like.
We have to have checked luggage. I was wondering if we should collect in Toronto and then check it in again for our next flight. We have about 12 hours connection time or just check right through??

I don't think you have that choice. If it's one ticket the bags get checked to the destination and you don't see them en route. If it's two separate tickets, for example, I usually get EasyJet from Geneva to Gatwick and then Air Transat to Toronto, then one must claim the bags,, clear customs and check them again.

The Toronto airport is always a fiasco, if timely arrival with baggage is important, consider Chicago.

There is possibly more travel chaos coming down the pike for Toronto airport if they demand pre arrival testing again, due to the situation in China.
This won't stop the virus, but it's again, a political calming method. They should rather focus on vaccination and a ww travel vaccination database.
