Toronto advice for young couple ...
Myself and my boyfriend are thinking about doing the two year IEC working holiday visa. I'm working currently as a montessori teacher (degree educated) with 4 years experience. My boyfriend has a Masters in International Business and is currently working in banking. What are job prospects like for these two sectors at the moment? We are extremely keen to travel but are really scared we won't secure jobs in our respective fields. We are thinking about going in October of 2014. Another thing I've heard about working in financial services in Canada is that you need to have built up a credit rating prior to being hired. If anyone could give me some tips / pointers I'd be extremely grateful.

If you are from the UK then it's a 1 year IEC visa, though you can apply for a 2nd year - it's a 2 year visa if you are from Ireland or Australia.
To get into Financial Services your b/f would need to be able to be 'bonded' - it isn't anything to do with having a credit rating, it's to ensure that you have not got a criminal record - you can read more here: http://www.businessdictionary.com/de...lity-bond.html
I would suggest you look on the 'working in Canada' website to ascertain what qualifications, certifications and job prospects there are for your respective professions.

The banks are always hiring. What exactly does he do?
"Currently working in banking" is rather broad!

Montessori teacher... there's loads of Montessori schools around, but many in my city (Ottawa) have struggled or shut down. Not all. Banking... not sure. I know a lot of people with the Cnd. equivalent of your boyfriend's masters without jobs... but if he has experience, that is more valuable. Perhaps if he works for a multi-nat he can transfer in?
