toronto accomodation
Hi, late January I need to spend 3 weeks in the Greater Toronto Area,to attend a course and interviews. The cost of a hotel for this period would put a nice dint In my wallet.Would anyone have any alternative suggestions or ideas. I read a thread a while ago about a booking code for hotels, but cant find it,and dont know where I found it.Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated.

There are several bed & breakfast/guesthouse options, which may be a sound option for a stay of 3 weeks, but bear in mind that they're by no means always cheaper than a hotel. Some hotel chains offer discounts for longer stays, too - always worth asking.
The alternative is to look on Craigslist to see if there are any sublet options available. If somebody is looking to break their lease a few weeks early it may be cost-effective - and certainly you'd be advised to look for somewhere with at least rudimentary cooking facilities so you're not eating out every day for three weeks. That'd certianly be a wallet-denting exercise!

www.sublet.com
Also, there are tons of short term fully furnished rentals but they are privey.
The Bond hotel near eaton center is a cheap hotel.
I've personally stayed at The Metropolitan (not the Soho on wellington) and loved it. Through a booking agent or via lastminute.com or expedia, you might be able to get it down to £60 a night.

Thanks for quick reply Oakvillian. The majority of time will be spent in the Brampton area, allthough I shall be doing a fair amount of travelling, meanwhile ill try craigslist. Cheers
