All consulates in US are busy and have rather similar wait time for the interview.
You heard wrong about 7 to 10 months from medical forms to the interview - it may
take much longer. It is highly unlikely that you will have interview scheduled before
the end of this year, regardless which consulate your file will be transferred to.
