Time line for Colombo

Hi,

I have filled my application in June 2001 , received my AOR in June 2001. ( Sri Lankan citizen)

But after that I didn't here anything from the CHC. Each time I inquired they give the standard answer " We cannot give you out any information at the moment".

Does anybody know why is such a delay ? why are they talking so long ?

Does the assisted relative category applicants get a faster processing time than the independent category ?

Is there any way I could find out whats is really going on.?

Thanks in advance for any comments, advice.

Re: Time line for Colombo

Hi

I also applied for Canadian PR in June 2001 and obtained the acknowledgement letter in the same day. I am waiting for the further steps.

I thing the huge economic drop in Sri Lanka in the last year may have increased the number of immigrant applicants resulting large accumulation of applications in the Colombo Visa Office and it may delay the processing time.

I came to know that Buffalo (USA) visa office oftenly give interview waving as they have huge accumulation of applications to process.

NoTe: Now You can check your application status via internet (www.cic.gc.ca)

Re: Time line for Colombo

For applicants who reside outside their area of responsibility processing times can
often be longer since they claim they need program integrity.

Oddly just a few years ago, there was little problem with integrity, but all
applicants were treated equally.

They have yet to explain why they can transfer cases to less stressed visa posts in a
relief effort, but somehow it is wrong for applicants to go post shopping.

Dear Mr. Berto Volpentesta

Then what would be the best course of action that should be taken at this time. wheather to transfer the file to my country or stick with the same Mission and wait to something will be good because now i am benefited by transition score of 70 as i applied before Sec 17, 2001 and it shows in E-client Status that thing

Re: Time line for Colombo

Transfering a case does not affect the lock in date.

Re: Time line for Colombo

Friends,

Is there anybody in this newsgroup, who really knows about what is happening in
COLOMBO CHC?, who recieved a call letter for interview?, or someone who completed
their interview? If so, please share the experience, so that it would be useful to
applicants like me.

Thanks

Santhosh
