For those already in Canada......
What is the one thing you recommend bringing with you from the UK? Anything really, from something practical to a foodstuff, im in a nosy mood :)

Nothing specific springs to mind, pretty much everything is available over here in varying degrees of price and quality.

Re: For those already in Canada......
Mmmmm foodstuffs :)
Oxo cubes - Oxo's are only available as sachets here and not the same at all. Instant Custard - I have never seen it here My son brings these over for me every time he comes  Other than that, I can't think of anything you can't get here! Practical... Quilts and Quilt covers are really expensive here (IMO) and it is worth going to Argos and picking up a couple. Be aware that a King size in the UK is a Queen size here though. If I can think of anything else I will add it :) |

Materialistically I wouldn't mind having my snowboard and golf clubs but I will ship those down the line. |

An armful of paperback novels. I find books here quite expensive except from somewhere like Costco which I don't go to very often and even then not necessarily what I fancy.

Re: For those already in Canada......
Sounds like Amazon will be my friend for stocking up on books in the meantime! :)

Re: For those already in Canada......
As I have two young children and therefore not much opportunity to wander around second hand book stores or charity shops I have taken to arranging book swap sessions with my 'mummy friends'. It's a great way for us all to recycle books whilst the kids run amok!

Sorry to be a downer, but my oxo cubes were actually confiscated when I landed as they have animal content and might have BSE !!
They were fine with my Bisto gravy mind.. |
