All long haul flights are a bitch... unless you're in business or first class. Economy is never a good experience, I dont care who you fly with. For me, cheapest is best. Is there much difference between a $600 flight with Canadian Affair or a $2000 flight with Air Canada? Nope... Dont care about the crew, dont care about the food. I just want to get where I'm going at a decent price. Just curious, do you always choose to stay in the cheapest hotels you can find? Or buy the cheapest car you can find? Or buy the cheapest food you can find? With anything you tend (not always) to get what you pay for, whether it be quality, service, comfort, safety etc. Flying BA for me is much more attractive that the charter option: Check-in at home as to avoid queuing for ages and arriving at the airport hours before the flight, using T5 LHR instead of Crapwick (more convenient and much nicer), BA Miles earned for each flight allowing upgrades, regular flights for convenience, ability to change a flight without much cost or issue, decent entertainment during my 10 hour stint................and more. It's what i'm used to i guess and all my own opinion. The bottom line is that i'm happy to pay for the service i get from BA whereas others aren't. |

Dont care about the crew, dont care about the food. I just want to get where I'm going at a decent price. We found only one other company who beat the price which was Air India and they only beat it by $17. Did find that by changing flying times and dates makes a big difference to the price you pay. |

hmm Thomas Cook's aircraft...hot, overcrowded, greasy food, small seats, failed aircraft, poor choice of films and same on way out as way back - never again for me. Never flown with Monarch though so no idea.

My plane was very new. Food was fine. Service was good. Much better than Air Transat or Air Canada and on a par with BA at a fraction of the cost. I sound like an advert now. |

Like I said before - neither would be my first choice airline, BUT we're flying Thomas Cook again next May (excellent price that I feel is value for what you get!) whereas we would never fly Monarch again, regardless of the price! |

Flying TC in June this year helped remind me why we had left the UK. "Luckily" they seemed to have put all those who had booked return from YVR together, and all those return from the UK in another part of the plane. I certainly felt more comfortable with the "Canadians" than the "Brits". The actual plane and flight was OK - more the people on it and the flight crew. I just sat there reminding myself that it was $300 cheaper than with AC or BA. I fly quite a bit with work domestically, and either go with Air Canada or WestJet. I hadn't realised how good they were, or the standard that I now think of as the norm until I flew with TC. Not sure if Monarch would be much better though. |

I've been flying to/from Canada for some years & have experience of AC, Thomas Cook, Air Transat. Have to say I flew to TO with T.Cook this August just gone & the staff were horrendous. Downright rude!! I had every intention of writing to H.O. , but never got round to it. Won't be using Thomas Cook again for sure.
