many thanks for all your advices i dont have any experience working in the oil and gas sector but have done some doing manual labour. am 29 and within the age bracket for the open work permit but if i decide to apply now i might miss my training so i will finish my training and hopefully do the ossa as well then back to scotland and apply for open work permit patiently.
Missing that training isnt that big a deal mate, those courses are run all the time and very easy to reschedule but if you dont get your work visa arranged you will be wasting your money on the courses |
Re: thinking of moving to alberta
totally agree, apply now - go to Nisku, do your courses, come home and wait for the visa. You might onlly have to wait a month whereas if you wait til you get home, the visas might all be gone anyway.
Also think on the fact that if you are 29 now - will you qualify for a secod year? If you want to go rigging you'll be over here for when spring break is over anyway  |
