As the title says what should we buy here and bring or what should we leave and but when we get to Canada.

We will be landing in October so will be starting to get cold should we buy a coats here or wait until we get there? same with boots for the colder weather?

If you are bringing enough stuff to warrant a container, then pack it full.

Winter clothing I would buy here if you dont have any, more selection, better equipped to deal with local conditions and for less money.

Electronics I suppose it depends if you want the hassle of using transformers, there is a long wiki article covering the pros and cons and what works and what doesnt.

Furnature I would bring if you have enough to be worth while, especially if its decent quality. Bedding is tricky, sizes are different here, and you are technically supposed to sterilse it or something.

Kitchen stuff, pots and pans etc, you might as well bring, it all adds up to replace it. Plus its nice to have some familiarity when you start off.

Having said that I came with more or less nothing.
