If this does happen, how would it affect those of us in the process of moving - does anyone know?

As far as I am aware our immigration would go through as normal. (A friend of mine workd for the US Embassy in London and that's what he told me)

Who knows for sure though.

You may as well worry how the process of moving would be affected by the Queen's announcing that she's divorcing Phil the Greek and moving in with Ellen.

Do you think that on the internet all sources are equally valid sources? What does the Daily Telegraph say about this? The Guardian? The NYT? The Washington Post? Even a citation from the Daily Star would add to the credibility of this idea.

Useless analogy, as the Queen does have any influence on the process. Changing of the EU treaties did effect the movement and acceptance of immigrants in many different ways. So if the NAU did come in to effect it will have some change - Might mean easier access to any part of North America.
Or less opportunity for a few years with the social changes of many areas.

Would Quebec opt out, join the EU allowing anyone from the EU to move there without having to do any immigrantion checks?

Timeframe of anything is move likely the issues. with a lot of US States actually announcing more changes to shake of FEDeral controll it would appear something is happening that might change a few things from the last 50 years.

DB what about Senator Ron paul -- he's not a racist is he??

Neither does the Amigo, the NAU nor the idea that man didn't actually land on the moon.

I don't know if he's a racist. He's a crackpot but I haven't heard of him commenting on race.

Have you any mainstream, credible source for any of this nonsense? How about an opinion from the President/Prime Minister of any of the countries supposedly involved?

The only people talking about a NAU conspiracy are lunatic-fringe nutcases. One of grah's citations is over two years old, and the author claims that big changes are "imminent". Nobody's immigration plans are going to be affected.

I just don't get why people would make it all up. Surely the could be sued for it:confused:
